barbecue sauce recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cider vinegar
  • 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp lemon pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Melt butter and add onion - Saute'
  2. Add all other ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tsp water
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp hot sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Stir all ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Serve immediately or chilled.


Refrigerate up to 3 days.

Shrimp marinade recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound of large shrimp, cleaned and shelled
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix all together and refrigerate for one hour. Grill and serve with tortillas and your favorite fixings!

marinara sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 7 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large fresh basil sprig, or 1 tsp dried oregano, more to taste
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pour tomatoes into a large bowl and add 1 cup of water into the can and slosh it around to get all the tomato juices.
  2. In a large skillet (do not use a deep pot) over medium heat, heat the oil. When it is hot, add garlic.
  3. As soon as garlic is sizzling (do not let it brown), add the tomatoes. Add red pepper flakes, oregano (if using) and salt. Stir.
  4. Place basil sprig including the stem, on the surface (like a flower). Let it wilt, then submerge in sauce. Simmer sauce until thickened and oil on the surface is a deep orange, about 15 minutes. Adjust seasonings and discard basil.
